Curriculum in the 21st Century - Should be an Adventure!
Welcome to the curriculum resources web site from 21st Century Schools! This is an ongoing project where we are building databases of ideas and resources for creating and implementing high quality 21st century curriculum. There is a way to teach above and beyond the standards while making curriculum exciting!
Many of the pages on this site are password protected. There is no fee, but we do ask you to Subscribe to the site in order to receive the password. Technology Integration tools are listed on a separate page rather than listing ideas on each and every theme.
The design and implementation of 21st century curriculum must be done from within the context of a 21st century education paradigm. What we mean by "21st century education" is that we clearly distinguish it from the current, obsolete, factory model of education. it is about much more than technologies. Please see our 3 compasses to view the critical attributes which define "21st century" education and curriculum.
We support/encourage curriculum that is project-based and interdisciplinary. Meet PBL21 - the next step in the evolution of project-based learning! To get you inspired and started, we have included a growing list of recommended themes and possibilities. For each theme you will find excellent resources and ideas.
If you would like support in developing project-based learning using themes such as those suggested on this web site we can provide it! See the 21st Century Schools Professional Development options!
